South Central Railway General Manager bats for Swachhta Hi Seva
Vinod Kumar Yadav, general manager, South Central Railway (SCR) participated in ‘Shramdaan’ programme as part of the observance of nationwide ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ drive. The event was held at Malkajgiri railway station of Hyderabad division on Sunday.

Arun Kumar Jain, divisional railway manager, Hyderabad division and other divisional officials also participated in the programme. Several volunteers of ‘Scouts and Guides’, college students, members of ‘Suburban Train Travellers Association’, senior citizens, Lions Club and ‘Malkajgiri Residents Welfare Association’ also partook in Shramdaan programme along with the general manager.
Yadav checked modern equipment being put in use for clearance of weeds and upkeep of station circulating area and various methods used in the cleanliness of station platforms and premises. He also undertook a thorough inspection of station manager’s office and perused various safety registers maintained and stipulated procedures to be followed.
The general manager also inspected the tea stalls on the platform and checked food items available. During the inspection, he checked toilet facility, station circulating area, etc. Later, he interacted with various representatives of welfare associations and took their views for developing station for future needs and rail user expectations. He also interacted with railway staff working at Malkajgiri to solve their grievances.
Later, he reviewed the requirement and upgradation of passenger amenities and traffic facilities needed for train operations keeping in view of future requirements with divisional railway manager and the branch heads of the Hyderabad division. Vinod Kumar advised the divisional officials to make out necessary plans for further enhancement of infrastructure at Malkajgiri railway station.
