Sewerage water takes over M J Colony roads

Moula Ali: Sewerage water has literally drowned the road at M J Colony road at Moula Ali. Despite several complaints to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), there is no action, say residents and businessmen.

Ali Riaz, a businessman said, “We are undergoing losses as no customer wants to walk through the dirty water and approach us. We have given complaints but no one seems to bother. The last time the sewers were cleaned was years ago.”

Locals say that the mushrooming of apartments is the reason for the increasing drainage issues as the old lines can no longer take the load. There are several shops on the road and businessmen complain that they are facing huge losses due to the bad road condition. When contacted, GHMC officials say that the cleaning would be undertaken soon and there are plans to relay drainage pipes with wider girth.”
