Nagar: Condemning the increase in taxes on petrol and diesel, the Quthbullapur CPM mandal committee took out a mega rally from Rhythu Bazar to Sagar Hotel junction here on Tuesday.
They demanded the State and Central governments to roll back the hiked taxes as people were finding it difficult to pay the inflated prices of commodities and it was becoming a huge burden on the common man.
Quthbullapur CPM leader Lakshman said," The State and Central governments had failed to keep up their 2014 election promise to reduce the tax rates on petrol, diesel and other basic commodities and also slammed the Central government for not showing interest on the common people’s issues in its four years of rule." He warned that the CPM would intensify the protests if both the governments didn’t take steps to resolve the issues.
