Nacharam: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Bonthu Rammohan along with legislator NVSS Prabhakar inaugurated sewerage pipeline works worth Rs 2.50 crore at Indira Nagar, water ATM and ‘Basti Dawakhana’ at Market on Monday.

The Mayor said that they are going to increase the height of the culvert at Nacharam to avoid inconvenience to the local residents during rainy season. He assured that the new pipeline will avoid inundation problem at Indira Nagar.

Every year during the rainy season, the whole area gets flooded and as a result, people even stay indoors for hours together. “Apart from the inconvenience, citizens also have to battle with diseases due to contaminated water,” said Rakesh, a resident. Bonthu Rammohan also assured to solve problems of Pedda Chervu tank.

Local corporator Shanthi said that to achieve it a dharna was conducted. Now that the Mayor has assured that there would be no inundation, we would have to wait and watch how soon the works would be taken up,” she added. Greater Congress general secretary Saizen Shekar, leader Mallikarjun Goud were present.
