Artist Santosh R Rathode’s recent exhibition at Ailamma Art Gallery explore artist’s view on his surroundings
“I was interested in art since my childhood and to pursue my passion, I did BFA and MFA from Gulbarga University. I started working on figurative and now I am doing mostly on abstracts. My artwork explore various emotions of people. For every art show, I chose the topic by observing my surroundings,” said Santosh R Rathode.
Sharing about his artwork, he said “My work is a spontaneous process and layering of surfaces one over the other in the language of abstraction. My works are my personal experiences and reactions to the continuous social happenings around me. The social issues which may not be acceptable by the viewer, I simply layer them aesthetically with due respect for not hurting anyone’s sentiments.
The layers are my personal reactions with particular names or symbols or images which I hide underneath by scribbling layering with tissue or by drawing. On the whole, at the moment, that space is very big for me,” “I received an immense response from Hyderabad art lovers.
I am planning to do my next show through performing art in various mediums. Young artists need great patience to become good artists. Every artist should give a message for society through their artworks,” shared Santosh R Rathode.
