There are many who love haleem and then there are those who want to make it themselves and eat it too. In what can be termed as a new trend, many haleem lovers are now setting up make-shift haleem centres in the city, more so in ECIL, Nacharam and Neredmet to cater to their close ones and friends. For instance, Fayaz Khan, TRS trade cell auto union general secretary at ECIL, is one among the many.

ECIL: There are many who love haleem and then there are those who want to make it themselves and eat it too. In what can be termed as a new trend, many haleem lovers are now setting up make-shift haleem centres in the city, more so in ECIL, Nacharam and Neredmet to cater to their close ones and friends. For instance, Fayaz Khan, TRS trade cell auto union general secretary at ECIL, is one among the many. He says, “I just love haleem and can go to miles to savour it. So I decided to set up a stall so that my friends and family can get to taste it right here.”

He has been making haleem for the last five years and the stall has now become the talking point in the area. Yuvraj, a resident says, “We wait for Ramzan and it is only one place where we go to eat and that is at Fayaz bhai’s centre.”

Another haleem lover, is Roy who likes to describe himself as one who can eat anything that crawls and a foodie to the core. A resident of Neredmet, he says, “I thought of setting up a stall for the past few years and this year I gathered myself and did it. The response is overwhelming as a number of footballers from Yapral come daily to eat haleem. Many think I am a Muslim and compliment me that the haleem as good as the one available in the old city.”
