Parigi: The All-India Students’ Federation (AISF) blamed the commercialisation of education by private sector with the support of officials of education department.

Speaking at a round-table conference held on Wednesday, AISF Vikarabad district general secretary S Chennaiah went on record stating that private schools set up book stalls and minting money by selling stationery. He demanded the state government to take steps against those who reduce education to a commercial commodity.

There were no instances of officials inspecting the private schools, he said. The AISF would resort to direct action if the private schools did not stop stationery business. District vice-president MD Afroze and Parigi mandal secretary of the AISF Srisailam and others took part in the round table.
