Sangareddy: District Collector in a statement sought the co-operation from the ration dealers to call off their proposed strike for the Public Distribution System which is crucial supply for the poor for their survival. The Collectorate said the ration dealers were not in a position to change their attitude neglecting their duties even the government had already constituted a three-member committee to sort out their problems and demands.

As the alternative arrangements for the PDS, the Collectorate stated, 670 Self Help Groups in the district, 75 by the MEPMA in Town and GHMC areas and 30 groups in by UCD were selected and for the storage of the groceries including rice stocks, 527 Gram Panchayats, 5 IKP centres, 29 Community halls, 102 Anganwadi centres and 112 other buildings and houses were identified for the distribution of monthly ration which will be started from July 5 to 10 in various areas in the district.

The beneficiaries in the villages will be informed beforehand about the distribution of the ration with elaborative arrangements.
