Tandur: Resource Persons, working in Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA), staged protest in front of municipal office, here on Friday, demanding regularising of their jobs. As many as 40 woman resource persons from the town, launched relay fast.

Speaking on the occasion, Lakshmi, Vanaja, Neelaveni, Kavitha, Jyothi said that they had been working hard for the government for many years and made every government programme successful. A meagre payment of Rs 1,200 per month was not able to meet common expenses, they said. They demanded that their services should be recognised and regularised and payment of Rs 10, 500 should be paid. Sujatha, Varma, Venkatalakshmi, Sasikala and others were present. Later, they handed over memorandum to the Municipal Commissioner.
