Stranded Old City youth rescued from Malaysia

Talabkatta: Two youth, who were struck up in Malaysia were rescued with the intervention of the Indian High Commission in Kuala Lampur and reached Hyderabad safely on Thursday. They were confined in a Malaysian resort without proper food and accommodation since October last.
Recently, mothers of duo Mohammed Ghouse and Mohammed Bilaluddin, residents of Talabkatta and Aman Nagar respectively of Old City, requested the Union Minister Sushma Swaraj to rescue their sons. Their mothers had alleged that these unemployed were lured by consultants based in Yakutpura. They were offered a job with a salary of 1,980 to 2,200 Malaysian Ringet per month, besides food, accommodation and travel expenses and were asked to pay Rs 1 lakh each. Both went to Malaysia on October 19.
After reaching Malaysia they were received by another agent and were asked to deposit their passports with him. They were taken to some remote area 90 km from Kaula Lumpur and were confined to Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort and were forced to work as slaves for almost 14-15 hours a day as cleaners, without proper food and accommodation. Despite the expiry of visa in January, they were held captive and forced to do work.
According to MBT spokesperson, Amjed Ullah Khan, who pursued the matter with Union, said “Their parents approached us on June 24 and a complaint was made with Sushma Swaraj, Minister for External Affairs and Indian High Commission in Kaula Lumpur. A complaint was also made with Inspector Rein Bazar Police Station and a case was booked against the travel agents,” he explained.
The Indian High Commission in Kaula Lumpur took up their case and after much persuasion by them both were rescued. The Indian High Commission provided them food, space to leave and gave them exit papers due to which they returned back safely. “After reaching Hyderabad safely Mohammed Ghouse and Mohammed Bilal Uddin thanked Sushma Swaraj and Indian High Commission in Kaula Lumpur, Inspector of Police Rein Bazar Police Station,” added Amjed Ullah Khan.
