Hyderabad: Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain directed officials of the Health and Sanitation wing to take up cleanliness drive in view of the upcoming Ramzan and Bonalu festivals. He directed the officials to maintain cleanliness in places of religious worship and their premises besides undertaking special drives for debris clearance.

The newly elected Standing Committee of the civic body met under the chairmanship of Mayor Majid Hussain at GHMC main office here on Thursday. The committee took key decisions such as construction of sports complex at Khajaguda in Serilingampally estimated to cost Rs 6 crore and giving 70 per cent subsidy for construction of Rainwater Harvesting Structures in residential colonies.

It also gave its nod for laying new roads and construction of storm water drains at various places.
