Hyderabad: A day after AICC general secretary in-charge of state affairs Digvijay Singh, said that the Chief Minister would introduce the Telangana Resolution in the State Assembly, N Kiran Kumar Reddy gave a clear indication that he was in no mood to abide by the decision of the Congress Working Committee to bifurcate the State. Speaking at a function organised to celebrate Telugu Bhasha Dinotsvam on Thursday, Kiran said that in a democracy it was people who were important and not a political party.

“If anyone feels that it is the party that takes a decision, they are mistaken,” he said. The Chief Minister said the party which got majority seats came to power and it was their responsibility to do what was good for them. “Decisions taken by any government, Central or State, should reflect the aspirations of the people. If any government goes against the wishes of the people, then that government would be dumped in the elections. That is the greatness of Indian democracy,” Kiran said.

He said many a time various political parties had faced a situation where they had gone out of power for having taken decisions which were against the wishes of the people. Referring to the ongoing agitation in Seemandhra region, he said that the state had been pushed into a very delicate situation during the last ten years. He hoped that the Telugu Thalli would give him enough strength to take correct decision which would be in tune with what the people expect from him.

People want him to take decisions that would help the “Telugu Nadu and Telugu Jaathi,” to move forward. Referring to the ongoing agitations in Seemandhra region, Kiran said everyone had the right to hold demonstrations or protests within the frame work of the constitution and in a peaceful manner. He added that people should have patience during such difficult times and face the problems boldly.
