Hyderabad: Though the ministers from Seemandhra region are divided on the timing of resignations, they have come together on the issue of staging a dharna in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the state Assembly on Tuesday. According to S Sailajanath, the dharna will be held between 10 am and 3 pm. They have already met the Speaker N Manohar and sought his permission. The dharna is to demand the Centre to keep the state united or at least put on hold the decision to bifurcate till it holds talks with stake-holders and resolves their doubts, and apprehensions.

Meanwhile, ministers like N Raghuveera Reddy , Vatti Vasant Kumar and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy felt that Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Erasu Pratap Reddy should not have gone to the Governor demanding that their resignations be accepted. They felt that resignation from the council of ministers would lead to imposition of President’s rule and they would lose a chance even to oppose the resolution in the State Assembly. Speaking to media on Monday, they said they should put pressure on the high command to keep the state united and not rush with resignation letters.

Raghuveera Reddy who was in Delhi recently exuded confidence that high command would definitely take their view point into consideration before moving forward in the matter. He also appealed to the agitating employees and students of Seemandhra to call off their stir and help the government restore normalcy in the region.
