AP power staff call of strike

Andhra Pradesh power employees who had been striking to protest Centre's decision to divide the state have called off their strike. Their decision follows talks with Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. The state's government's talks with the power staff has been successful, sources say.

It's worth mentioning here that the entire state was reeling under power crisis as electricity employees in the state went on strike five days ago. The stormy weather added to the power woes, making matters worse.

Head of Electricity JAC, Seemandhra told reporters this was only a temporary move owing to fears of cyclone Phailin.
