Visitors to be briefed on zoo ethics
The Nehru Zoological Park (NZP) has roped in volunteers who would brief visitors on animals and zoo ethics. There are a number of volunteers at the zoo who help the management keep the premises clean and take part in the events. This new concept of stationing volunteers at specific animal enclosures is part of an educational and awareness programme.
The Nehru Zoological Park (NZP) has roped in volunteers who would brief visitors on animals and zoo ethics. There are a number of volunteers at the zoo who help the management keep the premises clean and take part in the events. This new concept of stationing volunteers at specific animal enclosures is part of an educational and awareness programme.
The awareness programme would start from December 21 from 11 am. It would be held only on Sunday. With the new concept, the zoo is strengthening its volunteer service. The Hyderabad Zoo Corps comprising young students have engaged in zoo policing and security. A senior zoo official said that the volunteers have been especially helpful in prohibiting visitors to stray close to the enclosures and feeding animals. The snake show is already a big hit with the visitors.
