The Principal Secretary, MA&UD M G Gopal inspected the ongoing Metro Rail works between Nagole and Mettuguda along with MD, HMR NVS Reddy, Special Officer and Commissioner, GHMC Somesh Kumar and senior Police officers of Hyderabad and Cyberabad on Friday.

The Principal Secretary, MA&UD M G Gopal inspected the ongoing Metro Rail works between Nagole and Mettuguda along with MD, HMR NVS Reddy, Special Officer and Commissioner, GHMC Somesh Kumar and senior Police officers of Hyderabad and Cyberabad on Friday.

He reviewed the road and junction improvement works in this stretch and advised MD, HMR and Commissioner, GHMC to immediately take up improvement of station premises at road level and road re-engineering works in this stretch. HMR MD NVS Reddy explained to him that HMR has already finalised plans for the stretch between Nagole and Uppal junction and that works would commence in the next few days to provide the required safe pedestrian access facilities, bus bays, auto bays and other facilities at Nagole and Uppal stations.

Principal Secretary has advised GHMC Commissioner and MD, HMR, to firm up plans for the remaining stretch between Uppal junction and Mettuguda in consultation with R&B, Water Board and Traffic Police authorities and take approval in the earliest possible Special Task Force (STF) meeting headed by CS. The Principal Secretary also reviewed safety and security plans for the Metro stations and Metro depot in a meeting held at Uppal Metro Rail depot.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jitender; DCP (Traffic), Hyderabad Avinash Mohanty; DCP, South Zone Rama Rajeshwari; Chief Engineer, HMR Md.Ziauddin; Engineer-in-Chief, GHMC Dhan Singh; L&TMRHL Project Director MP Naidu and other senior engineers of HMR, GHMC, Traffic Police and L&TMRHL participated in the inspection.
