School of Mathematics’ Swachh Bharat Pledgethon was conducted at DAV High School recently. 424 children and teachers endorsed their commitment to making India cleaner and greener by presenting hand impressions. The Swachh Bharat Pledgethon was launched on January 25. More schools are actively participating in the pledgethon because it gives great opportunity to inspire and motivate children for cleanliness around us.

Simultaneously this also creates interest in young minds about mathematics and fractals. Once completed, the model of the pledgethon will be the largest fractal, a world record. It is the first-of-its-kind to be initiated in India and will be the largest mathematical model ever made by humans.

The pledgethon will see participation from over 1.7 crore children across India. Each pledge will be on a 20 cm X 20 cm page and the estimated dimensions of the Swachh Bharat Pledge are 1.5 km X 1.5 km. It is proposed to preserve the pledge permanently at the National Museum, New Delhi.
