In a huge sop for the cops, the chief minister has given his assent for the allocation of apartments to police officers in the State. Not just that, KCR has even fast-tracked the decision and plans to lay the foundation stone in the next fifteen to twenty days.

In a huge sop for the cops, the chief minister has given his assent for the allocation of apartments to police officers in the State. Not just that, KCR has even fast-tracked the decision and plans to lay the foundation stone in the next fifteen to twenty days.

KCR has instructed DGP Anurag Sharma to identify land for building a huge apartment in the Hyderabad and Cyberabad limits and has asked him submit a report on the same in the next three days. The DGP held a meeting with all the police units in this regard on Monday. Anurag Sharma has instructed officials from the twin cities, district offices, and sub divisional offices to submit reports on the lands identified for the purpose.

Additional DGP Sudeep Lakhtakia requested all the police units to form a cooperative housing society and to put by-laws on paper to avoid any controversies in the future. He also announced that those cops who don’t own houses would be given priority in the scheme. Senior police personnel including Additional Director General of Police (TSSP) Rajiv Trivedi, Telangana IG Intelligence Sivadhar Reddy, IG Personnel Sandeep Shandilya, DIG Kalpana Nayak and Srinivas Rao attended the meeting.
