With the temperatures rising steadily, the Nehru Zoological Park (NZP) has installed 25 air coolers at the monkey, jaguar, white tiger, cheetah, Royal Bengal Tiger and lion enclosures. Thunga grass (dry grass) is also placed over the roof of animal enclosures and on the sides gunny bags and khas khas thatti is covered.

Thunga grass (dry grass) is also placed over the roof of animal enclosures and on the sides gunny bags and khas khas thatti is covered. "Watering would be done in regular intervals. Fogger (mist falling splinkers) are placed at the birds and the reptiles enclosures.

180 degrees revolving splinkers has been placed in all the animal enclosures by which the soil will be wet, green and cool," said G Ramakrishna Rao, curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad. The diet plan for the animals too is changed; seasonal fruits with more water content like water melon become the part of the diet in summer. Vitamin C and Glucon D would be given to animals, informed a zoo official.
