Labour Day observed in Kalaburagi

Kalaburagi: “Unorganised labour should come together to achieve their rights by registering their names with the Department of Labour,” said First Additional Civil Judge and Secretary for District Legal Service Authority, SL Chauhan. Speaking at the inauguration of the International Labour Day organi-ed in association with Kalaburagi District Legal Service Authority, District Bar Association and Gulbarga Institute of Medical science at ESI auditorium here on Sunday, Chauhan said, “If construction labourers get registered with the Department of Labour, they can avail of benefits like retirement pension, Rs 2 lakh as relief in case of death due to an accident at a construction site, Rs 55,000 for cremation, up to Rs2 lakh for surgery,
Rs 50,000 for marriage and Rs15,000 for pregnant woman under welfare programmes.”
