"I am delighted to be here. This is my first visit to Bangladesh as a part of the SAARC yatra. We had very good discussions. I look forward to my further meetings today. We discussed SAARC issues and bilateral issues," said Jaishankar.
Earlier on Sunday, Jaishankar began his four-nation SAARC Yatra with Bhutan, holding discussions on regional cooperation and bilateral ties.
After his visit of Bhutan and Bangladesh, Jaishankar will travel to Pakistan on March 3 and Afghanistan on March 4.
He will undertake visits to Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal later.
