Karimnagar: Civil Supplies Minister D Sridhar Babu stated that the government was striving for development of the rural areas and was implementing several welfare schemes in this regard. The Minister along with MP Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated drinking water scheme set up with World Bank funds worth Rs 25 lakh at Pudur village in Kodimyala mandal in the district on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sridhar Babu said that the government was spending crores of rupees for providing basic facilities in rural areas.
Necessary funds were being released for construction of roads, drainages, buildings for schools, libraries and Anganwadi centres in the villages, he added. Addressing the gathering, MP Ponnam Prabhakar told the people to utilise welfare schemes being implemented by the government. The Minister along with the MP also inaugurated drinking water scheme at Nallagonda village and laid foundation-stone for construction of road at a cost of Rs 4.40 crore at Muddutla of Malyala mandal.The leaders took part in development programmes at Tippaiahpalli, Sriramulapalli and other villages also. MLA Devaiah, Joint Collector H Arun Kumar, ASP Rama Rajeswari, RWS EE Sudhakar Reddy and others were present.
