Warangal Urban: Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) Warangal district committee has organised Grama Chaitanya Sadassu at Zilla Parishad High School, Unikicharla with an objective to eradicate superstitions.

The programme was conducted in association with the school administration marking the schools’ annul day celebrations during late evening hours of Saturday. The office bearers of the JVV conducted various programmes to educate and promote scientific zeal among the villagers and students.

All India Peoples Science Network (AIPSN), New Delhi general secretary T Ramesh performed blind-folded bike riding and fire walk.

He moved around the village roads covering his eyes displaying mind-body coordination and said he had so far covered 3,700 kilometres in Andhra Pradesh and TS in blindfolded ride.

He trained students and villagers in fire walk made them walk on embers of fire telling that there was no need of special powers to walk on fire embers. But should know science behind such feat, he added.

JVV magician from Nizamabad picked up Mirchi Bajji from hot oil with temperatures between 300-350 degrees centigrade. The science behind the feat was to dip one’s hands in normal oil before picking up the bajjis.

The heat does not reach the skin immediately as it takes some seconds of time to absorb the heat, he explained.

JVV founder member and Chekumuki magazine editor Prof A Ramachandraiah, addressing the gathering, advised not to feed milk to snakes as snakes do not take milk as food. If they drink milk they would die.

He has invited the students to NIT Warangal to improve their fundamentals and practical skills in science.

Psychiatrist B Jagadish Babu displayed how consuming alcohol would harm the brain by practically recording the changes that takes place in the body and brain following its consumption.

DEO S Srinivasa Chary, in his address, told the students to have self confidence, self esteem and think scientifically.

The ZPHS Unikicharla stands as inspiration to schools in the district as it bagged national award in Swachh Bharat and won first prize in State-level Chekumuki Talent Test-2016.

JVV Warangal district committee D Prabhakara Chary, general secretary V Raju, State vice-president Prof K Laxma Reddy, member KB Dharmaprakash, M Ramulu, school headmaster B Jithender Reddy, Vidya Committee chairman Pittala Mogili, Sulakshya Seva Samithi president Santhosh Manduva and others were present.
