Pocharam along with Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy participated in the awareness workshop of on farmer panels held at Suryapet on Wednesday.

“One cannot imagine the society without farmers who provide food to the crores of people. However, the farmers have been reeling under debts since independence. Considering all such issues, the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has designed farmer panels to make agriculture a profitable sector,” Pocharam said.

He criticised opposition parties for demanding scraping of GO 39 and advised them to cooperate with the government for the welfare of farmers.
After correction of revenue records of lands, government would provide Rs 4,000 per acre per season to original patta framers to meet the seed and fertiliser expenditure.

Minister Jagadish Reddy felt that farmer coordination committees would bring golden era in the field of agriculture in the state and advised the committee members to work for the welfare of fellow farmers.

District Collector Surendra Mohan, TSFDC Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, State Agriculture Commissioner Jagan Mohan, Suryapet Municipal Chairman Ganduri Pravallika, Joint Collector Sanjeeva Reddy, AMC Chairman Y Venkateshwarlu, MPPs, ZPTCs and large number of farmers participated in the programme.
