Mukkoti Ekadasi: Temples witness huge crowds
Vaikunta Ekadasi, also known as Mukkoti Ekadasi, was celebrated with religious fervour by devotees at various temples across the district on Friday. On the day, the devotees observed fast and thronged the temples since early hours. They offered prayers to the Lord and performed special pujas seeking health and prosperity.

Special Abhishekam was performed to Lord Sri Ranganatha Swamy in the early hours at Sri Lakshmi Ranganatha Swamy temple at Ranganayakulagutta in the city besides a Palliki Seva for the Goddess Goda Devi. Speaking on the occasion, temple priest B Venkata Krishnamacharyulu said Vaikunta Ekadasi was auspicious festival as the gateway to Lord Vishnu’s abode opens on this day.
District Family Court Judge Lalita Kumari offered prayers along with her family members at the temple. Corporator Rudragani Sri Devi along with temple management Sripadacharyulu, Chakradaracharyulu and Acharya Sandeep made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the devotees.
