Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy felt that government was delivering on all its poll promises one by one and paying special attention to Agriculture sector to make it a profitable sector.

As the clock ticked 12 on Sunday midnight, Minister Jagadish Reddy formally launched round-the-clock power supply to agriculture sector by starting a borewell located at an agriculture field in Kuda Kuda village of Chivemla mandal in Suryapet district.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, ruling out the all false predictions of anti-Telangana, opposition parties and united Andhra leaders, the State has got a special identity in the country in a short span of three-and-a-half years under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

He urged the farmers to remove automatic starters that were fitted to borewells and advised them to use water as per the requirements to save it for future needs. He informed that the State government was ready to provide an aid of Rs 8,000 per acre per year to farmers to relive them from debts and to make agriculture sector a profitable one.

“Works of proposed irrigation projects in the State are going in at brisk phase and Godavari waters would change the Suryapet lands into the green belt,” he said. Party district and local leaders accompanied the Minister.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Minister Jagadish Reddy laid foundation stone for the construction of 2BHK houses at Krishna Samudram, on the outskirts of Tummala Panpahad gram panchayat of Athmakur (S) mandal.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy informed that as many as 60 houses with an estimated cost of Rs 3.2 crore would be constructed at the proposed site for providing shelter to the poor. He further informed that construction of 2BHK houses was a continuous process and would be carried out till the last eligible gets the house.
