Mahbubnagar: With an aim to intensify the farm mechanisation in Mahbubnagar district, the State government had allocated 213 tractors to the district for the financial year 2017-18. Revealing this, the District Agriculture Department Officials said that interested farmers can procure the application forms from the Department from January 4 to 10 and submit to the nearby Agriculture Department.

“Under various farm mechanisation schemes, the government had allocated 213 tractors to Mahbubnagar Agriculture Department to be distributed under subsidy. As part of this, 149 tractors have been allocated under Normal State Plan (NSP) scheme and about 70 tractors have been allocated under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) scheme. As per Collector’s orders we are directed to seek applications from farmers at mandal level from January 4 to 10,” informed C V Sharma, District Agriculture Officer, Mahbubnagar.

As part of the farm mechanisation, small and medium scale farmers and women farmers will be given priority. The farmers from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) will be considered for this scheme as per the rules and regulations set by the government. The district-level farmers committee will be entitled to select the beneficiaries under the CHC scheme.

The farmer or farmer’s families who seek tractor under CHC programme are entitled to avail a subsidy up to Rs 5 lakhs. However, the farmers associations or a group of farmers can avail the subsidy of more than Rs 5 lakhs provided they have active bank account over five years with regular transactions. Groups like RMG, JLG, SHG, IWMP etc will be given preference.
