Collector orders suspension of erring duty doctor
District Collector Gaurav Uppal made a surprise visit to urban health centre at Pangal in Nalgonda town on Tuesday. During his inspection, the Collector found that duty doctor Sripriya was absent at the health centre.

Expressing his angst, he contacted District Medical and Health Officer Bhanu Prasad over the phone and directed him to suspend Dr Sripriya for dereliction of duties.
The Collector further instructed the DMHO to visit few PHCs regularly and submit daily reports and take stringent action against erring doctors.
Gaurav Uppal further informed the DMHO that he would make surprise visits to PHCs at least twice a week and warned to initiate serious action against negligent doctors on the spot.
Later, the Collector interacted with the patients and took the feedback from them with regard to treatment and facilities at the hospital. He also examined the attendance register of staff.
Being a doctor, he personally treated a patient, who was suffering from fever and prescribed some medicines. District Civil Supplies Officer Nagarjuna, Municipal Commissioner Venkateshwarlu accompanied the Collector during his surprise visit to Pangal health centre.
