Mahbubnagar: District Collector Ronald Rose directed the officials of all key departments to implement e-office, an online administration system, on priority in the district. While addressing a meeting of officials of important departments like Municipal Administration and others, the District Collector sought to know why the officials were not keen on implementing paperless offices.
“We have introduced the e-office online system for better administration for the first time in Mahbubnagar. However, there are still some key departments that have not adopted it. We have sought their responses and directed them to implement the paperless e-office for day-to-day administrative operations,” said the Collector, while addressing the meeting at the Collector Bungalow here on Wednesday.
Initially the district administration decided to introduce e-office online administration system in Municipal Administration and other departments. However, even though it has been more than one year since e-office was introduced, the officials are yet to implement it on one or the other pretext.
If once the e-office system comes into being, the officials need to carry out their official transactions only through online without involving any paper using mails and software documents applications. This would enable more transparency and accountability among officials and help speed up the work process in the district.
Once it is successful in key departments, then the e-office software system will be introduced to other departments like Weights and Measurements, Public Relations and Endowment departments in the district. Officials from different departments took part in the meeting.
