Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy here on Friday said the Mission Bhagiratha showed the commitment of the Chief Minister to provide potable water to every household. The Minister along with District Collector K Surendra Mohan inspected the ongoing works under Mission Bhagiratha in Suryapet mandal.
Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish Reddy directed the officials to complete project by May 5 and conduct trial run. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao took a bold decision to ensure that every household get drinking water through pipeline by year-end. He recalled that the Chief Minister said he would not seek votes if he failed to fulfil his promise.
He stressed the need to force the contract agencies to speed up the work on the project. He directed the officials to pay special attention to the project. Imamapet water treatment plant would get water from the Nagarjunasagar tail pond project and trail run would be conducted on May 5, he said.
The Minister also inspected the works of water distribution tank located at Undragunda hillock. In the programme , Mission Bagiratha SE Madhu Babu, EEs Venkateshwarlu , Mohanreddy, District Library Chairman Srinivas Goud, DE Naresh and representatives of contract agency GVPR participated.
