Devarakonda Padamati Thanda accident victims kin get financial aid
Local MLA Ravindra Kumar, along with Rythu Samanvaya Samithi State Chairman and Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy handed over a cheque for Rs 50,000 to each bereaved family in the accident in which tractor fell in SLBC canal at Padamati Thanda on April 6.
Devarakonda: Local MLA Ravindra Kumar, along with Rythu Samanvaya Samithi State Chairman and Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukender Reddy handed over a cheque for Rs 50,000 to each bereaved family in the accident in which tractor fell in SLBC canal at Padamati Thanda on April 6.
On the advice of the MP, the amount meant to be spend for MP felicitation on his first visit to Devarakonda after being appointed as farmers’ coordination committee State Chairman, the MLA’s one month’s salary of Rs 1.50 lakh and financial support by Good Samaritans in the constituency were all donated for the purpose.
A total of Rs 4.50 lakh thus collected was handed over to the victims’ families, Ravindra Kumar said. Speaking on the occasion, he said a proposal of Rs 3 crore was submitted to the government for construction of protection wall along the AMRP link canal to avoid incidents like Padamati Thanda in future.
If land is available, government was also ready to construct 2 BHK houses to all eligible persons in the Thanda, he said. Market Committee chairman Narsimha, vice chairman Edukondalu, vice-MPP Gasiram Naik, former ZPTC T Govardhan Reddy, RSS mandal convener Pratap Reddy and others were present.
