Party's 32nd Formation Day celebratedA leadersVijayawada:The Telugu Desam leaders celebrated the party's 32nd Formation Day at the party office here on Friday. The leaders paid rich tributes to the party founder late Dr N T Rama Rao and vowed to bring the party back to power in the State. The party Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency in-charge, Kesineni Srinivas, garlanded the portrait of NTR at the party office and inaugurated the celebrations. The party urban unit president K Nagul Meera hoisted the party flag and greeted the activists. Speaking on the occasion, Kesineni Srinivas called upon the rank and file of the party to work hard to bring the party back to power in the State. He wanted them to free the people in the State from the corrupt Congress. He said that the people were suffering due to the corrupt and anti-people policies of the ruling Congress. He wanted the party leaders to work with the spirit that late NTR had worked with when he launched the party 32 years ago. He recalled that NTR had created history by bringing TD into power in just nine months of its formation. Besides NTR had also created history by throwing the corrupt Congress out of power from the State and giving an alternative to the people, he said. He wanted every leader to work with the same spirit and ensure that the party is returned to power in the next elections. Srinivas said that both NTR and Chandrababu Naidu had played key role in national politics by brining non-Congress parties together and forming alternative government at the Centre. He asserted that the party would play similar role in the national politics after 2014 elections. Nagul Meera said that Chandrababu Naidu had promised to give 100 seats to BCs in the next Assembly elections and had already made a Dalit, G M C Balayogi, as Speaker of Lok Sabha for the first time in the country. He said that TD was known as a party of the BCs and Dalits and appealed to the people to work for the party's victory in the next elections. The party founder NTR's friend Kaza Ramamohana Rao, party senior leaders Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Thumati Premanath, KVP Basaveswara Rao, Katragadda Babu, Musti Srinivas, Jasti Sambasiva Rao, P Nageswara Rao, Ch Usharani, K Jayalakshmi, K Devamani and others were present.
