Vijayawada: The All India Dalit Rights Federation (AIDRF) has demanded the UPA government to take a clear cut decision on capital city for Seemandhra region. AIDRF national convener Kandula Anand Rao, addressing the media here on Sunday, said that the Dalit communities have welcomed the decision taken by UPA government on separation of State. He said that UPA government was not clear about the separation of State and the road map. People of Seemandhra are worried about the announcement of Telangana along with Hyderabad. Seemandhra people are very much attached to the historic city for the past 50 years, he said.

Anand Rao said that these problems would not have arisen if the Congress government had earlier given clarity on allocation of water, resources and employment opportunities after the bifurcation of State. Anand Rao demanded that the Central government should announce Hyderabad as the second capital of the country as Dr B R Ambedkar had suggested long ago. Capital city of Seemandhra should be announced soon as people of the region are getting worried about their future, he said.

He also demanded that the government to announce benefits given to the SC, ST and BC communities before separating the State. Political empowerment of Dalit community is possible only through smaller States, he opined. The AIDRF State unit president, Kancharla Mohana Rao, national committee members Y Kondala Rao, Y Jayaraju and others were present.
