Political parties asked to join Samaikyandhra movement after giving letters to UPA government against State bifurcation
Vijayawada: Political parties are utilising the sentiments of Telugu people for their political benefits, said A Vidya Sagar, APNGOs JAC president, here on Monday. The APNGOs association and VMC Employees JAC organised a huge rally on Canal Road and offered prayers at Potti Sriramulu statue at Prakasam barrage.
Vidya Sagar said that all political parties were responsible for the present situation in the State. All political parties, including the Telugu Desam Party, the YSR Congress Party, and the Congress Party expressed their acceptance for division by writing letters to Union Home Minister. But the same political parties changed their opinion after the announcement of Congress Working Committee (CWC) on bifurcation of the State, he said.
He demanded the political parties to participate in Samaikyandhra agitation after submitting letters to the UPA government against the division. About Seemandhra ministers in the Cabinet, he said that people of Seemandhra were observing these leaders and they would give their verdict in 2014 general elections.
He called upon the Telugu people to support the Samaikya Avagahana Sadassu at Hyderabad on September 7. The municipal JAC president D Eswar addressing the gathering said that common man of Seemandhra was much worried about his future. Politicians and business men were worried about their assets. But students and farmers will struggle for their existence after bifurcation, he said.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Vijayawada Unit has organized a rally at Karl Marx Road and extended their support to the relay hunger strikes taken up by APNGOs. The IMA, Vijayawada unit president BV Ramana Murthy, addressing the gathering, said that Seemandhra people would face tough time after bifurcation as all modern medical facilities are located in Hyderabad. He called upon the public to support the protest.
Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists burnt the effigy of UPA government and expressed their protest. The TDP Krishna district unit president Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, addressing the protesters said that the Congress party had betrayed the Seemandhra people with its false Statements. He said that Seemandhra MPs and Union Ministers were much worried about their political career than sentiments of public.
He said that Congress high command was not in a position to understand the sentiments of Seemandhra people. The UPA government has announced that it would introduce Cabinet note within 20 days. The Congress leaders are still trying to bluff Seemandhra people by saying that there would be no bifurcation.
He called upon the public to support TDP and Chandrababu Naidu for development of Seemandhra region. The Seemandhra student JAC has organised a rally on MG Road and demanded the UPA government to take back its decision on bifurcation. Employees of Sri Durga Malleswara Swami Devasthanam had staged a variety protest on Tuesday. Official orchestra of temple had performed on the ghat road welcoming the devotees.
