Hyderabad: The congress party MP and central minister Purandeswari Devi has started exhuming the personal benefits out of state bifurcation. She is ahead of most of the congress leaders in this race. While all sectors of people have been agitating for Samaikyandhra in Seemandhra districts, the congress leaders have been thinking of seats and votes.
It is told that Purandeswari is at the forefront in the votes and seats race. She started working out plans to choose her constituency for next general elections. She now eyes on Vijayawada MP seat, as Subbi Rami Reddy has been reiterating that he would contest from Visakha constituency only, sources added. It is evident that the present MP of Vijayawada constituency, Lagadapati Rajagopal has been facing problems with both high command as well as the local people. In view of this, Purandeswari wants to make the most of this opportunity.
Sources said she is confidant of getting support from her social group to contest from Vijayawada constituency for her next general elections. Purandeswari and her husband Daggubati Venkateswar Rao met the party officials in Vijayawada on Friday. They reached here to attend a private program. According to the sources, Purandeswari has opined that it is better to work for Seemandhra development rather than fighting for the united Andhra Pradesh.
The other reason the sources added for her eye on Vijayawada seat is, the loss of confidence in the minds of Visakhapatnam people for her. The Seemandhra people are fuming over the congress leaders for prioritising their personal befits out of the Seemandhra agitation. From the other side, Lagadapati's group also became alert on the issue.
