stateKurnool: Groupism in the Congress party has once again raised its ugly head with the TDP leader Kappatralla Parappa Naidu joining the Congress party at the behest of Aluru MLA Niraja Reddy in the presence of PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana. Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jayasurya Prakash Reddy expressed his displeasure over the incident and wondered as to how the one-sided decisions could be taken without consulting the district leaders. It is apt to mention here that Parappa Naidu is son of TDP leader Venkatappa Naidu's brother who was killed in faction fights with Congress leaders. Niraja Reddy had personally taken Parappa Naidu and two others Kumar Goud and Chiranjivi of Talamarri village in Devanakonda mandal to Gandhi Bhavan to join them in Congress in the presence of Botcha Satyanarayana. Union Minister Jayasurya Prakash Reddy and Niraja Reddy have been at loggerheads for quite some time. In fact with the entry of Niraja Reddy into the politics, the Congress in Aluru constituency was vertically split. Parappa Naidu and others have been followers of TDP leaders KE brothers for quite some time. MLC Sudhakar Babu has gone to the extent of alleging that the TDP leaders were invited into Congress party with the mal-intention to weaken the party. He said that the Congress workers had lost everything due to the family of Venkatappa Naidu in the last three decades and were implicated in several criminal cases. "How could the Congress accept such leaders in the party?" he said. However, TDP leader KE Krishnamurthy said that it was the choice of some leaders to leave the party and join some other party. "It was their choice," he asserted.
