Hyderabad Mayor imposes penalty against two for illegal plastic banners

In a press release, the GHMC announced the ban of plastic below 50 microns plastic bags and flexies was being enforced strictly in Hyderabad as violations are being penalized during the drive.

Almost 500 kg of plastic waste was collected in the last two days and Rs 1.50 lakh was collected as a penalty from traders.

Two persons have been imposed a penalty of Rs.15,000 each as per the directions of Mayor B Rammohan for displaying unauthorized flexies and banners at TRS Bhavan.

The Mayor urged all the political parties and public representatives to participate in the initiative of maintaining Hyderabad as a pollution-free city.

With the government directions of banning the single-use plastic completely by 2022, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy has appealed to all the traders and citizens to implement the ban on single-use plastic and make the city pollution free. He also appealed the political parties and public representatives not to erect banners in this regard.
