Several schools across Hyderabad declared a holiday on Thursday following the state-wide bandh called by the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and other student organisations.

The schools and intermediate colleges were asked to be closed on Thursday as the student organisations plan to protest against the rising fees being collected by corporate educational institutions. Despite the Professor T Tirupati Rao Committee being constituted to look into the issue, there has been no change, hence the demanded a mechanism to be implemented to regulate school fees.

Exams scheduled to held on Thursday were postponed to a later date while the parents were informed regarding the shutdown on Wednesday evening.
