Telangana MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy on Tuesday addressed a press conference in Nalgonda district where he pointed that the state, barring Hyderabad and Warangal, was still economically backward.

Mentioning the injustice done to the people of Telangana over the past few decades, the MP stated that he had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in 2015 in this regard.

Urging the Centre to declare one project in Telangana as National Project, he further said that if Special Category Status (SCS) is accorded to Andhra Pradesh, a state rich in all kinds of resources, then Telangana should also be accorded the same.

Sukhender Reddy also questioned the Congress MPs from Telangana as to why they didn’t demand Telangana's bifurcation promises when the Congress Working Committee promised to accord SCS to Andhra, during the No Confidence Motion debate.
