Vijayawada: Hoax bomb call created a commotion in Chennai-New Delhi express train and Railway security personnel in the early hours on Wednesday. Railway Protection Force and Government Railway police personnel searched the train after halting at Krishna canal station in the outskirts of Vijayawada and heaved a sigh of relief as there was no bomb as call received by the staff.
The train arrived Vijayawada railway station late by 70 minutes behind the schedule due to the search conducted at the Krishna canal Railway station. According to railway authorities the schedule time of the arrival of Tamilnadu express is 4.30 a.m. but it came about 5.40 a.m. Some unknown person made a call that a bomb was planted in the train triggering panic among the passengers. But, nearly 200 police personnel belong to RPF and GRP searched the train and found no bomb. The train left for New Delhi as usual from Vijayawada railway station.
