The state governments annual festival 'Visakha Utsav' would be celebrated from December 28 to 30 on the beachfront with plenty of colour and tourism promotional programmes. Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao at a press conference here on Thursday announced the Utsav Schedule. Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the Utsav December 28.
This year, the government has decided to present Visakha Utsav Puraskar awards to the persons who rendered their excellent services to the society in various fields. A committee, headed by Collector Pravin Kumar would select the persons for the Puraskar awards. One of the most attractive event Heli Tourism would be started from December 23rd onwards, the minister added.
A unique event India United a skit involving the artists from all the states in the country would be the main attraction at the inauguration day. This year, the flower show would be organised for five days at Central Park. Folk, traditional, tribal, classic dance programmes would be organised during the three-day festival.
This year also, the organisers are offering various bumper prizes including a four-wheeler, motorbikes and many more. As a part of the Utsav sports, games, cultural competitions would be organised. The local talented artists of all kinds would be given top priority in the event. Women, Students, Fisher Folk and Tribal activities would be organised in the event, Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said.
