Haj Pilgrims selected through draw of lots

Hyderabad: As many as 3685 Haj Pilgrims from Telangana State were selected today through Computerised Qurrah (Draw of lots) at Haj House, Nampally, Hyderabad. Sepcial Officer Telangana State haj Committee Prof. S. A. Shukoor inaugurated the draw of lots by clicking the button.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the draw is conducted by the Haj Committee of India and it is displayed here. He said that the Haj Committee of India has allotted a total Haj Quota of 4,169 for Telangana State, out of which 484 Haj Applicants under Reserved Category of 70+ years would be selected automatically without draw of lots. The draw of lots was held for the remaining 3685 seats from among 12,884 applicants under fresh category. The State Haj Committee received a total of 13,368 applications for Haj 2019, he said.
Prof. Shukoor further said that the results of the draw are available on the website www.hajcommittee.gov.in or the web site to the Telangana State Haj Committee www.telanganastatehajcommittee.com. He said that the Haj Applicants would also be informed through SMS on their mobiles.
