Mahbubnagar: Ashritha, wife of Erra Jaganmohan, who was gunned down by an unknown assailant at Devarakadra Bus stand on Wednesday, alleged here that the Telugu Desam MLA and own brother of the victim was behind the murder. Speaking to the media on Thursday, she said the MLA Erra Shekhar threatened her that her husband would be killed if she did not withdraw her nomination for the sarpanch post in their native village Pedda Chintalakunta. Erra Jaganmohan's sister Sridevi also demanded that the MLA should be punished for killing their own brother. Meanwhile, post mortem was conducted on the body of Jaganmohan at the Mahbubnagar Government hospital on Thursday. Circle Inspector Govardhan Giri said two bullets, one from the head another from the abdomen, were recovered from the body. He said the dead body was sent to Hyderabad later. The investigation of the case was entrusted to Gadwal DSP Govinda Reddy. The police were investigating the case from different angles. A police team visited Pedda Chintalakunta and questioned several people there to get clues. They also questioned some persons who were present near the murder spot. The police were also trying to ascertain whether MLA Erra Shekhar personally participated in the killing. The police suspect that apart from the rivalry in panchayat politics, some property disputes might also be involved between the brothers. DSP Govinda Reddy said the investigation was progressing well. He said it was essential to question the MLA to come to a conclusion.
