Pall of gloom descended on Reddy Colony in Hanamkonda following the death of a software engineer, Dasari Raghuram, belonging to the town in Uganda on Sunday. His death caused much commotion here. First it was assumed that the deceased was shot by miscreants at Kampala, the capital city of fUganda. But later it was learnt that he died of cardiac arrest.

According to the Embassy of Uganda, Raghuram has been working as an ICT security specialist at a company affiliated to the United Nations. He had whined of chest pain on Sunday night and was rushed to Emmanuel Medical Centre at Entebbe. Raghuram had suffered from breathing problem and succumbed at the hospital. According to Raghuram’s elder brother Avinash, “we had received the information about the real cause of my brother’s death by late Monday evening. We were first told by the consultancy people that our brother was killed by muggers”. The cause of the death is said to be ‘Ischaemic heart disease following coronary artery thrombosis’ according to a communiqué of the embassy.

The Embassy of Uganda in New Delhi wrote to Indian officials stating the cause of death. IT Services minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah who is touring the US contacted local Indian High Commissioner and urged him to send the body to India at the earliest. The body is expected to be brought here on Wednesday morning. Raghuram was sent to Uganda by a Mumbai-based firm,Trigyn Technologies. It is making arrangements for transporting the body.
