The train had started from Delhi and was bound to Ernakulam in Kerala.

It is learnt that more casualties are feared in the accident when the accident took place around 6.30 am in the treacherous ghat sections of Nashik, between Ghoti and Igatpuri stations on the Central Railway route.

The eight derailed bogies are strewn on the adjacent tracks, and have completely blocked rail traffic between Mumbai-Nashik.

The derailment has blocked railway traffic on the busy Mumbai-Nashik route. Various trains, including Manmad-Kurla-Godavari Express and Manmad-Mumbai Panchavati Express have been cancelled, PTI said.
According to the pti inputs, rails like Sevagram Express and Rajya Rani Express were halted at Lasalgaon, said a railway official at Nashik.
Railway officials Helplines have installed helplines at Kalyan (02512-311499) and Igatpuri (02553-244020) for people to inquire about their relatives.
