Shah slams AICC chief for charging that saffron party had come to power by making false promises
Hyderabad: The BJP on Thursday took on Congress president Sonia Gandhi and asked her not to bother about the saffron party or its commitment towards the promises it had made to the people during elections.
Referring to the speech of AICC president Sonia Gandhi where she had said that some people came to power by making false promises, BJP president Amit Shah said, “I would like to tell the Congress president that it has not been even 90 days since we came to power. All our promises will be fulfilled. You don't worry."
Asking the Congress to stop giving advice to others and instead look within, Shah said why the Congress which promised to control rising prices within 100 days of coming to power failed to do it even during its ten-year rule. He said the Congress party would face the wrath of people again if it failed to stop raising false allegations. The NDA government would fulfill its election manifesto before going to the elections next time, Shah added.
The Modi government had taken many concrete pro-development steps in its first few days, the BJP chief claimed. On the issue of derailed talks between India and Pakistan, he explained that it had become a regular practice for Pakistan to involve third party. Even this time, the neighbouring country had spoken to the separatists ahead of the talks between High Commissioners of India and Pakistan was to take place.

Hyderabad: Leaders from different political backgrounds, including former DGP and YSRCP leader V Dinesh Reddy and Telangana Rashtriya Lok Dal (TRLD) president Dileep Kumar formally joined the BJP on Thursday in the presence of party national president Amit Shah. The BJP also admitted several Congress leaders into the party fold including the Congress floor leader in GHMC Diddi Rambabu and corporators Amarnath and Shankar Yadav. The joining of Congress corporators, party sources say, will help the party in the GHMC elections.
While the joining of Dinesh Reddy was not a surprise, the merger of entire party TRLD by Dileep Kumar raised many an eyebrows.
