New Delhi: A member of Sunanda Pushkar's family demanded a CBI probe into her mysterious death after a fresh report was submitted to the police by AIIMS doctors on the reasons for her demise that added a new twist to the controversy.
Sunanda's cousin Ashok Kumar claimed that the reasons for the death of the wife of the former Union Minister and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor was "unnatural" and alleged that it was "pre-planned".
"Earlier it was said that it was overdose and now it's clear that it was due to poisoning. We want a CBI probe," Kumar said.
Sunanda Pushkar's son requests Delhi Police to conclude the inquiry into his mother's death expeditiously and impartially. Sunanda's brother Ashish Das said the truth should come out in the case.
Breaking his silence, Tharoor said he has always been cooperating with the police and is awaiting their report on the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
"I have been cooperating with police from the first day itself. I have sought a report in the beginning itself and I am awaiting it. I have not heard anything from the police yet," Tharoor, who is visiting his grandmother told PTI.
BJP senior leader Subramanian Swamy on Saturday alleged that the Congress MP Shashi Tharoor treated his wife Sunanda Pushkar violently a day before her death.
