A four-month-old baby girl who was thrown out of the running Hatia-Patna Express by a woman near Argora on the outskirts of Ranchi has survived the fall with a fracture.

"The girl child escaped with a fractured hand as she fell into bushes”, a police official told reporters on Tuesday.

Quoting witnesses, the official said the baby girl was found by a woman identified as Hazra Parveen Khatoon.

Khatoon, who was standing near her son's road-side tea shop, said she saw a woman flinging the child from the train. She later took the baby to a hospital and the X-ray report found a fracture in the hand.
