Goa Coconut and Cashew Festival begins today For the first time ever, the Goa Coconut and Cashew Festival 2015 will be held from April 29 to May 3, 2015 at D.B. Bandodkar Ground in Campal located about 4 km from Panaji.

Everyone thinks Goa is just beach, bikini girls, film festival and booze. For the first time ever, the Goa Coconut and Cashew Festival 2015 will be held from April 29 to May 3, 2015 at D.B. Bandodkar Ground in Campal located about 4 km from Panaji.


Fun-filled sports like coconut tree climbing workshops, demos on Feni distillation, handicrafts made from coconut and cashew and even cooking workshops will be organized by Goa Tourism.


The festival will showcase all characteristics of Goa's agro - based products which form an important part in the lives of the Goan people. Entertainment programmes are also lined up at the festival. The festival will see Goa's best dancers, singers and musicians entertaining tourists and locals of Goa.


Other than experiencing the one-of-a-kind festival, travelers can visit nearby tourist attractions to Panaji like Baga, Calangute and Candolim. Or head to the quieter landscape of Goa for that traditional experience.


This one-of-a kind festival is organized by Goa Tourism in association with the Department of Agriculture, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Goa Handicrafts Corporation. Many events such as different kinds of games, cultural program would be organized for the entertainment of both tourists and locals and the festival will revolve around coconut and cashew.
