Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana: Karnataka Has Five Lakh Accounts In Vijaya Bank. Vijaya Bank has opened around five lakh zero balance accounts in Karnataka under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and issued RuPay debit cards to the account holders.

New Delhi: Vijaya Bank has opened around five lakh zero balance accounts in Karnataka under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and issued RuPay debit cards to the account holders.

Vijaya Bank is implementing the programme at all of its 1533 branches.

Beneficiaries from the scheme have said that Rs 5,000 over draft facility that comes along with opening of the account was of great help to them.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank has launched the Jan Dhan Yojana in nine districts of North Karnataka.

Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna was launched in August 2014 with the aim of opening a bank account for every household in India.
